Rock Log guide: rarities, odds, and events
The Rock Log in Rock Sitter has 52 entries. Most come from random events that happen while you watch the rock. The rest come from sitting a long time, showing up on certain days, visiting several days in a row, and five secrets. This guide explains how each kind works and what the odds are.
The 52 entries
| Kind | Entries | How you get them |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 8 | Random events |
| Uncommon | 8 | Random events |
| Rare | 6 | Random events |
| Legendary | 4 | Random events |
| Ultra rare | 6 | Random events |
| Secret | 5 | The log will not say |
| Milestone | 6 | Sitting from 5 minutes up to 3 hours |
| Calendar | 5 | Being there at a certain time or date |
| Streak | 3 | Visiting 3, 7, and 30 days in a row |
| Grail | 1 | A 1 in 10,000 chance |
The first seven kinds, 43 entries, make up the main log. Calendar, streak, and grail entries are bonus finds.
How random events work
The first event happens a few seconds after you arrive. After that, a new one happens every 9 to 22 seconds for as long as the page is open and you are looking at it. That is about 230 events an hour.
Each time, the game rolls for a rarity and then picks an event of that rarity. These are the chances for each event:
| Rarity | Chance | How often it comes up |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 58% | More than twice a minute |
| Uncommon | 27% | About once a minute |
| Rare | 12% | Every 2 minutes or so |
| Legendary | 2.5% | Every 10 minutes or so |
| Ultra rare | 0.5% | About once an hour |
| Grail | 0.01% | About once in 43 hours of watching |
These are averages. Luck can be much kinder or much worse.
The once-a-day rule
Each rare, legendary, and ultra-rare event can happen only once per day, and the game always picks one that has not happened yet today. On an average day the six rare events turn up in the first quarter of an hour, the four legendary ones in about 40 minutes, and ultra-rare events arrive about one an hour.
Once every event of a rarity has happened today, an uncommon event takes its place. The day resets at midnight on your device.
Milestones
Milestones mark how long you have sat with the rock in one sitting: 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours.
- The sitting timer only runs while the page is visible. Switching tabs, minimizing the window, or locking your phone pauses it.
- Pausing does not reset it. When you come back, the timer carries on, and the rock mentions that you left.
- Reloading or closing the page starts a new sitting from zero. Your all-time total keeps counting, but milestones use the current sitting.
For the long ones, keep the page in front and stop your screen from going to sleep.
Calendar events
Five events only happen at a certain time or on a certain date. The game uses the clock and date on your device.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 11:11, morning or night | Be on the page during that minute |
| A full moon | Sit for a minute within about half a day of the full moon |
| Friday the 13th | Visit on that day |
| January 1 | Visit on New Year’s Day |
| September 21 | Visit on Gerald’s birthday |
The date events appear within the first minute of a sitting, so a short visit is enough.
Streak rewards
Visit 3, 7, and 30 days in a row to earn the three streak entries. Opening the page counts as a visit for that calendar day. Miss a day and the streak goes back to 1. The reward appears within the first minute of the visit that reaches the mark.
Secrets
There are five, and this guide will not spoil them. One hint: none of them depend on luck. Each one is something you do, or a time you show up.
The grail
Gerald’s true form has a 1 in 10,000 chance on every event. It could be the first thing you ever see. It probably will not be.
Doris and her closet
Finish the main log, all 43 entries, and a second rock moves in. Her name is Doris. She has 28 looks to collect, plus one that only supporters get.
Doris tries on a look every 10 minutes you sit. She can pick one she already owns, so later looks take longer to find.
| Look rarity | Looks | Chance per try |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 5 | 50% |
| Uncommon | 5 | 28% |
| Rare | 5 | 15% |
| Legendary | 3 | 6% |
| Mythic | 2 | 1% |
The other eight looks are seasonal. Each belongs to one month: February, April, July, September, November, and December have one each, and October has two. In a month with a seasonal look, one try in five is seasonal and the rest follow the table above. Outside its month a seasonal look is vaulted until next year.
